It's not enough to say the right thing. It has to be true.
LaCosteWorks Consulting is built to support moments for people and organizations when it's not enough to say the right thing – it has to be true, and it has to land. My work begins with people before platforms and intention before ideas.
Years of leading high stakes work with the world's most renowned brands taught me how to interpret culture, business priorities, and human behavior together. I listen closely, identify friction, and turn my observations into strategic and purposeful direction.
The result is communication that is both creative and disciplined. Work that is thoughtful enough to resonate, structured enough to execute, and built to create real life impact.
About Brie LaCoste
I'm an award-winning communications strategist and founder with more than a decade of experience helping organizations communicate effectively, navigate complexity, and build long-term credibility.
My background spans corporate, nonprofit, and agency environments. I've partnered with executive leaders, founders, and teams to shape messaging for internal and external audiences – often during periods of growth, transition, or increased visibility. My work has included traditional PR, corporate reputation, internal communications, multicultural strategy, and cross-sector engagement.
Over the years, I've advised and led work for brands such as P&G, Target, Honda, AT&T, Frito-Lay, the NBA, Jack Daniel's, Dow, Merck, Novartis Gene Therapies, and more – across industries including healthcare, retail, CPG, tech, sports, and education.
In 2019, I was honored as PRSA Chicago's Young Professional of the Year – a recognition that reflects the results of my work and the standards that continue to guide it.
Today, as Founder and Principal Consultant of LaCosteWorks Consulting, I provide strategic communications leadership and collaborative partnership for people and organizations that need experienced counsel without the commitment of a full-time hire. My focus is simple: strategic communication that works. My work reduces confusion, strengthens trust, and helps people and organizations move forward.
I'm a proud Chicago native and a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism – two communities that shape how I think, write, and lead.

Long before boardrooms and brand strategy, there was a kitchen table and a notebook.
My grandmother introduced me to writing before I understood what “storytelling” meant. Her poems and essays – handwritten and carefully stored (still) under her bed – taught me that words hold memory. And that stories matter. Language can outlive the moment.
I was the student reciting Maya Angelou in poetry contests every single year. I was the high school student submerged in album reviews, AP Language essays and school newspaper editor-in-chief duties. The college journalist determined to challenge the narratives surrounding Black girls and women in media. Writing was never extracurricular for me. It was formative.
Over time, that love for storytelling became a career shaping stories for major brands and leaders. But the instinct remained the same: pay attention. Feel the rhythm. Respect the weight of words.
I've stepped away from writing at times. I've returned to it. I've rediscovered it. Each return sharpens my understanding that communication is not just messaging – it's identity, power, and responsibility.
Strategy without story falls flat. Story without structure drifts. My work lives in the balance.
I built LaCosteWorks from that place. This work is not just a consultancy – it's a continuation of something that has always been part of me.
